IT
We have a fantastic IT person here at Wayne who handles all the IT issues. I've been scratching my head over something that brought down both my Moodle and Wiki sites - even though I wasn't working on them. Joe, who I feel I've bothered way too much, got them back up and running.
Not yet sure what happened, but there seems to be a bug in MediaWiki 1.47 that affects the Skins directory.

Yay. :/ Permissions errors are easy to commit, hard to find, and easy to fix. Guess what that tells me about those folks?

But anyway, my question was for Clancy, who recently wrote about trying to pick a new ISP. I'd be a little frustrated if a new ISP was not doing stuff right...

It's a new school domain. But what really happened was some folks hired to do all kinds of crap for WSU came in, messed stuff up, and started turning off permissions. Some of my folders were affected. All fixed now.

Is this your new ISP or the old one that gave you a lot of trouble?

Okay. Maybe I'll give it a shot. I'm mystified, though, as to why I can't login to phpWiki.

Can't log in with that info.
You should download mediawiki. It's more powerful and it's an easy install.

I did a Fantastico install of phpWiki, and it is MADDENING. I can't login to the admin panel. If you want to try it, please do: http://culturecat.net/wiki/admin.php username: clancy
password: playwiki

I know this information is correct because I just uninstalled it and reinstalled it, creating that username/password for the admin.
