Why does Bruce Wayne suddenly have a raspy voice when he puts on that outfit?
--------------------------------
The batsuit and everything would be pretty pointless if everyone thought Batman sounded remarkably similar to Bruce Wayne.

2.
If Wayne's parents were so "generous," why did they live in a house the size of Rhode Island? Shouldn't they have donated some of that loot? Maybe build a few hospitals?
--------------------------------
Perhaps they did both, but donating hospitals wasn't central to the plot of the film. Besides, if you had enough money to do everything you wanted, why not allow yourself to live in luxury as well?
--------------------------------
3.
Why is building a train from the slums to the city such a great feat of generosity by his parents? So all the immigrants and poor can now work in Gotham as servants and janitors?
--------------------------------
If I remember correctly, the train was free to use. If so, I wouldn't say no to free transportation. Economically speaking, transportation is important. It allows more people to move to areas which were previously inaccessible thereby stimulating growth, which I think was Mr. Wayne's motivation for building the train system.

Wayne's dad just happened to make all this super-hyped military equipment, and it's just sitting in a basement of the Wayne building attended by one dude? "Hey! Want a car that drives like a super-tank? Well, hell, I got one right here nobody wants, not even the government!"
--------------------------------
Well, the government originally wanted the munitions and most likely provided specifications for them, but then decided to balk when the bill came in. Rather than give the equipment to another country, some bloke down the street or throw the money away by disposing of it, the decision was made to mothball it, most likely in the hope that it would be needed later. As for Lucious Fox (the guy taking care of the equipment), he was a good friend and ally of Mr. Wayne. As such he wanted the company to be run as Mr. Wayne would have ran it. That put him at odds with the current president who thought of only profit. Rather than fire Mr. Fox and incur the wrath of the board, he was shunted aside into a small department by himself so he couldn't cause any trouble.

So let me get this straight: the Wayne dad somehow is a doctor on the side (of what exactly anyway) and industrialist by night?
--------------------------------
I knew he was an industrialist, but I must have missed the part of him being a doctor... Unless the film was implying he had a PHD in business or a related field...

Why do the Waynes leave the theater through the alley? I'm assuming they came in through the front door. Anything wrong with leaving that way too?
--------------------------------
Being celebrities, leaving halfway through the performance for no apparant reason might give the impression that they don't think much of the performance, not to mention drawing any unwelcome media attention... I can see the headlines now; "Future president of Wayne Enterprises scared of theatre actors!"
--------------------------------

What's the deal with the stock market take-over of Wayne enterprises? Is that really needed in the plot? "Didn't you get the memo?" Trite. Who wrote this film? The same guy who writes every other superhero/bad guy vs good guy flick?
--------------------------------
I can imagine Mr. Earle's reaction to Bruce waltzing back after 7 years have passed and expecting to take over the company. Bruce explains that he's not going to give Mr. Earle any competition and would be content with a fairly low out-of-the-way job. Mr. Earle decides to employ him so he can gain a good reputation and puts him somewhere where he would not cause any trouble... Mr. Earle tries to get more money by selling stock, which Bruce secretly buys in order to retake control of his fathers company. I think that part of the plot nicely allows Bruce to return after 7 years and still have the means to support his future lifestyle. As for whoever wrote the script, I hope he writes more of them.

How come a black guy has to always yell out "Nice ride" or some other schlocky thing when a superhero's car is parked outside? And then why does he have to get all bug-eyed when the damn thing doesn't something "super"? What is this? The 1920s of stereotypes?
--------------------------------
I haven`t been close to that many super heroes car to hear all the comments people say about it. I agree though that in that situation, "What the F*** is that!?!!" or something similar would probably sound more natural... :-)

Why does the D.A. look like she's twelve?
--------------------------------
I didn't think she did. I've often thought that the older you get, the younger you think other people are getting. I remember I always used to look up to other people, now it's other people who have to strain their head... Still, it's a helluva a compliment for her; looking so young and fresh...
--------------------------------
10.
What the hell does "It's not who you are but what you do" mean? If I do something, isn't that who I am?
--------------------------------
Being a police officer doesn't make you lawful, having a criminal record doesn't mean that you are a criminal. You can be a corrupt policeman or if you have a criminal record, you could have paid your debt to society and reformed. It's not the job you do, but the way you act that decides what sort of person you are.

How is that Alfred didn't age a day since Bruce was a kid?
--------------------------------
Poetic license... Either that or they didn't use enough makeup to make the age difference obvious enough.
--------------------------------
12.
Why doesn't Wayne just chop the dude's head off in the Asian temple? His so-called desire for true justice is thwarted anyway when he burns the temple down. I'm sure the guy he supposedly saved for a trial burned to death in the fire.
--------------------------------
I think he was trying to exercise restraint. Bruce only knows what he's been told about the man. As far as he knows his friends could have been mistaken or just lying. If he killed him he would just have become a murderer.
--------------------------------
13.
Who's going to clean up that mess in Gotham now that everyone has been "saved" from the League of Shadows?
--------------------------------
The emergency services will while Batman deals with the escaped convicts, the first of which is the Joker. Anyway sense the opening to a sequel? I think it would be great if the series was carried on. A series of Batman films which is more for adults than small children would be refreshing and more than welcome.

You see a movie, you get what you pay for. Next time, spend your eight bucks on a decent six-pack.
Speaking of which, I brewed another barley wine before heading to C&W.
