Two things I wish I had paid better attention to:
1. My dad working around the house, building stuff, landscaping
2. When I worked in a garage in high school. What I would know about cars today if I had bothered to listen and hang around after work with the owner - who wanted me to hang out and learn.
But no. I was too much of a smart ass. Still am, of course, but in different ways.

Oh man do I know what you mean. I so which I'd paid attention when my dad tried to teach me how to take care of the house. Fortunately, my wife paid attention to her father, and my father-in-law, who likes projects, rolls into town once or twice a year and stays for a bit.
